LEARNING ABOUT
DENTAL VENEERS

WHAT ARE VENEERS?

Dental veneers are wafer thin, tooth-colored restorations that are used in the aesthetic zone (section that shows when you smile) of the mouth. Due to their thin size, these restorations are not ideal for teeth that will take on larger impacts from biting forces.  Rather, veneers are prepared and bonded to only the front side of your teeth to alter their appearance. Before placing the veneer, Dr. Stelmach removes a small amount of enamel on the tooth to make room so that the veneer will look and feel natural. The end result is a very cosmetic and conservative solution that may be ideals for certain types of corrections.
